We recently produced a large overhead cassette blind for one of our trade customers, Express Essex Blinds. Their customer wanted an electric blind installed to allow them to control the amount of light coming in through the skylight.

We manufactured our C57T electric cassette blind to an impressive size of 2.6m by 3.25m. A 3% screen fabric was selected to achieve the right level of light exclusion without making the room dark. The complete system was produced in just five days by our skilled team and installed on the 1st March at a residential property in Essex.

As you can see in the video, at the touch of a button, this overhead cassette blind smoothly moves across the window due to our tensioned spring units.

The responsible installer at Express Essex Blinds had no issues programming the electric cassette blind, which utilises a 230v AC tubular motor. The C57T is a simpler system to install than other overhead blinds on the market, which is a testament to our design team.

The overhead cassette blind was supplied with our Skyshelf, which we recommend for overhead installations within a recess. The Skyshelf creates a platform for the blind to be installed in and ensures the fabric runs correctly between the two headboxes.

Dan Smith, Managing Director at Express Essex Blinds shared the video above on social media with the following caption:Large Rooflight Roller Blind installed today, 5 day turnaround from Yewdale, thanks Brian Treweeke for your help with this one.”

More details about these products

The C57T is an electric overhead cassette blind that is quiet to operate and simple to programme. Featuring a powder-coated finish, the aluminium headbox is both sturdy and stylish. The fabric is securely held in place and the side channels ensure it is consistently taught and eliminates light seepage.

We supply Skyshelf at a longer length than the recess to allow the installer to cut it to the perfect size, which is great for recesses that aren’t perfectly square. Any drill holes are hidden by the Skyshelf, creating a neat finish.
