In our unique patent-pending design, the mounting plates are permanently fixed to the wall with two countersunk anti-tamper proof fixings and magnets fitted to the plate and the accessory. The magnetism holds the load release accessory in place on the wall. When put under an excess load of 20kg or more, the accessory will pull away from the plate for a fail-safe, anti-ligature solution.
We know the dispensers attached to the mounting plate are changed regularly, and we wanted to make this process as quick as possible. With the K08 mounting plate, this is simply addressed by replacing the small KD4S discs on the rear of the dispenser or accessory and re-fitting the discs to the new item. There is no need to replace the plate and there are no bespoke requirements necessary unless requested.
The sleek design of the K08 mounting plates means that both sizes blend in almost seamlessly to any given environment.
Constructed from durable materials, the plate is designed to last a lifetime. The sturdy, fixed design of the K08 mounting plate makes it ideal for larger accessories such as paper towel holders and soap dispensers. Only the load release accessory, which is usually made of plastic, will fall away from the plate which stays attached to the wall, reducing the size and weight of the item that could be used to assist in destructive activities.

Kestrel K08BW/CW Fixed mounting plates which are installed directly to the wall for mounting larger standard accessories using magnetism, enabling them to be used with confidence in ligature-proof environments, as manufactured by Yewdale, +44 (0)1268 570900. Anti-shatter PVC plastic, complete with magnets and fixings.
It is an NHS requirement that items suspended on load-release support systems should be maintained and load-tested on an annual basis in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. It is a requirement to carry out a physical inspection and testing of YewdaleKestrel® fittings to identify any possible damage or evidence of tampering and undertake an annual load test. All installations require a commission pull test to be carried out and recorded and copy given to the client to sign off the installation.
A clear inspection and repair and/or replacement policy should be followed ensuring that components have not become redundant or worn or superseded by safer systems. Tests, including load tests, carried out on components should not affect the integrity and reliability of the components and parts should not need to be replaced each time a test is carried out.
Annual inspection and load testing of YewdaleKestrel® systems should only be carried out by Protects Plus 0345 646 0955.
Sensitive electronic equipment may be damaged by proximity to a magnetic field and should not come within 150mm of the underside of the brackets. Any load-release device, by its nature, may cause damage when operated. Articles suspended from the YewdaleKestrel® magnetic anti-ligature system will come down when pulled.

Care should be taken when assessing or arranging a room to ensure that YewdaleKestrel® products cannot be misused in conjunction with any other item, furniture, or fixings in the room.
