Following feedback from our healthcare partners, we have introduced the new K2500 reduced-ligature curtain track to our YewdaleKestrel® load release range to help keep staff and service users safe from harm.

Designed with safety in mind, the new reduced-ligature safety track fits flush to the wall, eliminating the risk of it being removed and used inappropriately. The track is solid and stylish and made from white powder-coated aluminium which is well-suited to healthcare environments. The load release safety curtain track also features rounded end brackets for enhanced safety.

Curtain track gliders

Anti-ligature gliders come as standard, which allow the curtain to gently and effortlessly move along the track reducing the chance of the curtain being pulled down due to heavy manual handling. If an excess load is placed upon the curtain, the curtain will separate, leaving the track and gliders securely in place.

*Product safety tests were conducted with 3mm wide curtain hooks.

Due to the simplified design of the load release curtain track, the curtain is easy to re-install to the anti-ligature gliders. Our unique gliders cannot be removed from the track, meaning there is less plastic in the curtain if it is pulled down.

The track has 16 gliders per meter, ensuring there are no significant gaps when the curtain is hung and always presents a neat appearance. Available in widths from one to five meters, the track is easily installed by a competent person using pin hex anti-tamper security screws.

Key features

The K2500 safety curtain track features a wipe clean material, meaning the curtains don’t have to be removed in order to be cleaned. The safety track requires no maintenance apart from regular damage inspection, saving time and money.

Due to its fixed design, the K2500 is ideal for high-risk mental health settings, care homes, and detention centres where violence is threatened. This sturdy safe curtain track will reduce ligature risk and protect staff and service users from harm.
