Brian joined Yewdale back in June 2011 as a temporary worker on the late shift. What started as a short-term position quickly turned into something more — thanks to his strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to go above and beyond. Within just three months, Brian’s commitment earned him a promotion to Senior Operative in the roller department.

Not one to stand still, Brian continued to embrace every new challenge. His strong organisational skills and understanding of the production process led him to a position in the processing office, where he spent 18 months while also taking on the additional responsibility of Health and Safety Manager. This dual role demonstrated his versatility and proactive approach — qualities that continue to shine through in his work today.

In November 2013, Brian made another leap forward, joining the estimating team. Just seven months later, his adaptability and customer-focused mindset paved the way for his next promotion to Internal Account Manager, working closely with one of our Business Development Managers, Jerry. This experience allowed Brian to build strong relationships with clients and develop a deep understanding of their needs — setting the stage for his next big step.

By June 2017, Brian had progressed into his current position as Business Development Manager, a role in which he oversees operations across much of the UK and Ireland. He also managed our wholesale clients for 18 months, helping to drive an increase in turnover and strengthen Yewdale’s presence in the market.

Brian’s story is one that truly reflects our values at Yewdale: hard work, collaboration, and a willingness to grow. His success is a testament to what can be achieved when you approach each opportunity with an open mind and a positive attitude.

When asked what advice he’d give to others looking to grow their careers, Brian’s message is simple yet powerful:

“Don’t be afraid to try something new. Nearly every role I’ve taken on has come from saying ‘yes’ to new opportunities.”
