HBN Compliant Cubicle Tracks For Hospitals - Yewdale

The recent replacement of HTM 66 by Health Building Note (HBN) 00-10 Part E represents a significant update in guidelines for the installation and use of cubicle curtains and tracks in NHS hospitals. The new guidance covers a range of topics such as curtain selection and changes, carbon reduction considerations, cubicle track maintenance and more.

There is also a section in the new HBN 00-10 Part E which provides guidance for the safe use of curtain tracks and anti-ligature products in mental health settings. The guidance relates to and should be followed by hospitals, installers and manufacturers. These updates are critical for maintaining a safe, private, and hygienic environment for patients and staff.

We have already incorporated all essential information into the Kestrel training course, with a focus on the principal aspects of the new standard. For more information, we encourage you to watch the short video we created.

Ensuring our products comply with HBN 00-10

As a producer of healthcare products and a supplier to the NHS, we are committed to remaining compliant with healthcare legislation and transparent about our products. Here are three things we are doing in response to the HBN 00-10 Part E:

    1. We have updated all documents with the latest Operation and Maintenance (O&M) information for our YewdaleMovatrack® and YewdaleKestrel® brands.
    2. We have ensured that our Kestrel policy is updated and detailed.
    3. We're now aligning all documents with new legislation to ensure compliance and relevance.

These highlights represent just a portion of the key changes in the new HBN 00-10 standard. We're here to provide detailed information and answer any questions you may have about how new guidance differs from HTM 66.
